The Global Movement for Children (GMC) aims at uniting efforts from organisations, people and children to build a world fit for children. They work together with by ENDA Tiers Monde, Plan International, REDLAMYC, Save the Children, UNICEF and World Vision at a global level focusing on children. There are different programmes which are going on in the various part of the world to promote their movement of ‘Say Yes to Children’ which seek to protect and improve lives of children in the world.

In the Asia and the pacific region, they launch a campaign called EVERY ONE Campaign. The goal of this campaign is to prevent children from dying before they reach the age of 5 years. They promoted the campaign in the various countries such as China, India, Vietnam and Bangladesh. They also work with the government, UN and local organisation to help the people. They do so by creating awareness of this issue through media such as Radio and Television. The work together with organisation such as ASEAN Partnership Group, ChildFund International, Plan International, Save the Child, UNICEF and World Vision International. The partners mentioned previous such as ‘Save the children’ will go into the country and provide them with the resources to fulfil the goal.

I feel that their approach is effective and efficient as they work together with the government and the people in the countries. The program would only be successful if they are able reach the people in the country as it requires everyone effort to contribute to the fulfilment of the MDG. Therefore, by educating the people in the countries by having seminars and television talk show, the people in the countries would have a better understanding of the issue. They would also support the government policy regarding the issue. As they are also work together with the government and NGO, the government would be able to set policy to improve the condition and at the same times getting physical helps from the various NGO. By collaborating with the government and the various NGO, they would be able to help the children in the different countries.

They have done well in educating the public about the health of the newborn babies. They have also conducted survey to find out the on the public knowledge, awareness and behaviour regarding health issue. Through conducting survey from the public, they are able to see whether their campaign is working well in the countries. They have also done well in helping to achieve the MDG 4 which is to reduce child mortality rates in the developing countries. I feel through the use of media may not be that effective as the people in the poor villages may not be able to get access to such luxury. Therefore, they can also work with the grassroots to promote this campaign to the people in the rural area.
