if you ever tapped on someone's wireless internet connection at home, that is an example of positive externalities.
the person who paid for the wireless internet connection was not the only who benefitted from the internet connection. (unlike unlike national wireless conenction, which we do not have to pay to use it, our home connection is for personal use.)since you are not the one who paid for the internet connection, it means you are not directly involved in the economic transaction, but you benefitted from it because you could surf the net without having to pay for it.this means that the person who paid for the internet connection did not reap all of the benefits of the economic activity.
